It sits on a ridge above the 78 with nothing between it and the sun or the wind, and the 2000s stucco up there takes a harder beating than anything at the same age down in the valley. Parapets and flat-top garden walls are the first to fail, because water sits on them. Down in 92069 the older ranch homes from the 1960s and 1970s have wood fascia and original trim.
Around Cal State San Marcos there is a big rental block where the interiors get cycled hard and the exteriors get ignored. Discovery Hills and Rancho Santalina fill in the 1990s.
